Shamrock Vineyard would like to welcome you to the first successful wine-grape planting in Central Ohio.  In 1971, Dr. Thomas N. Quilter and his wife, Mary, started planting in the midst of grain fields next to a small farmhouse, just outside of Waldo, Ohio.

The idea was to see if grapevines would grow in a climate not perfectly suitable for the cause.  And to their surprise some did.  In the beginning, the grapes went to home winemakers and wineries until 1984, when Shamrock became a bonded winery.  To date, more than 25 varieties have been planted and the most winter-hardy have survived.  French-American hybrids, labrusca, and some vinifera make up the acreage which are crafted and tended into Chateau Shamrock wines.

Today, the legacy, wines, and vines are now being cared for by the watchful hands of grandson Thomas Van S. Creasap after Dr. Tom's passing in March 2006.  Shamrock Vineyard will be celebrating its 24th year of operation in 2008.

We are extremely happy to announce the availability of Online Registration for our

Annual Twilight Dinners and Shamrock Scramble Golf Outing!

We would also love to show you around the vineyard and pour samples of our several unique wines.

Cheers,

Van Creasap
